About the project
BaZi Calculator is a free educational project created by Deerflow. It turns birth details into a reviewable Four Pillars chart, then explains the vocabulary in clear English without presenting the result as professional advice or an unavoidable prediction.
A useful chart should make its inputs and rules visible. Results show the selected birthplace, timezone, true-solar-time setting, and day-boundary convention so that a reader can understand why a pillar may differ from another calculator.
The chart engine produces deterministic calendrical data. Explanatory guides add cultural and interpretive context, but they do not turn a traditional framework into a scientific diagnosis or a guaranteed prediction.
Unknown birth times, dates near solar-term boundaries, and different school conventions can change a result. We prefer a visible limitation over false precision and invite correction when a claim or calculation needs review.
How we work
The calculator runs in the browser. Birth details used for a chart are not sent to our server for the calculation or saved to an account. Public pages explain the data sources, software dependencies, weighting choices, and known limitations behind the result.
Educational guides are published under the BaZi Calculator editorial name. Each guide displays its publication and revision date, and the calculation methodology links to the primary technical references that informed the implementation. When a page changes materially, its visible update date should change with it.
BaZi is a traditional interpretive system rather than an evidence-based method for medical, legal, financial, or psychological decisions. Those decisions should remain grounded in qualified professional advice and real-world evidence.
